beep™ now has QR tickets

BGC Bus, Topline Express Ferries shift from conventional tickets to QR

AF Payments Inc., which modernized payment and ticketing in public transportation with the beep™ card, introduces the first QR code transport ticketing system in the Philippines. Initially, Metro Manila-based BGC Bus and Cebu-based Topline Express Ferries will offer QR code technology for payment and passenger ticketing.

What’s a QR code? It’s the abbreviation of Quick Response Code which is a two-dimensional barcode that stores information which can quickly be read by a QR reader, allowing quick validation allowing access into paid or boarding areas.
