A new box office record has been set by Disney – and it’s huge!

According to Variety, Disney has beaten its own record of global ticket sales for a single studio by taking a whopping $7.67 billion worldwide this year so far, which is evidently higher than last year’s record of $7.61 billion.

With other highly-anticipated Disney films coming later this year, the record would most likely to move up even further.

According to Digital Spy, the total was amassed with the release of blockbuster films such as Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Aladdin, Toy Story 4 and the recently released The Lion King – and it will continue to grow higher as the last quarter of the year comes.

Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame and Aladdin have already taken $1 billion each, and The Lion King and Toy Story 4 are expected to hit a billion in the following weeks as well.

And judging by the massive films that Disney will release in its 2019 roster – which includes Frozen 2, Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil that will hit cinemas before the year ends – Disney’s total earnings by the end of the year are expected to be pretty huge.
