Two new installments to the Mad Max movie franchise is currently in the works according to the film’s writer/director, George Miller.

The maker of the action-packed Mad Max: Fury Road starring Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron revealed his plans in an interview of having two more sequels, after legal issues with Warner Bros. have been settled.

In his interview with Indiewire, Miller said that he has two sequel ideas in mind, “both involving Mad Max, and also a Furiosa story,” but that all depends on the outcome of the “Warners thing.”

“It all started because of the chaos at Warner Bros. and not Kevin Tsujihara” Miller said, referring to the legal wrangling with Warner over unpaid earnings.

“He wasn’t the antagonist,” He said. “A lot of people didn’t know what was going on and were not prepared to make a definitive stand; everybody was running around fearful, it seems, through three regimes. It was hard to get anyone’s attention, so we went to litigation.”

“The chaos has stabilised and it’s become extremely positive as the dust seems to have settled after [the AT&T merger].” He added.

According to NME, Miller is currently working on the film Three Thousand Years of Longing which will star Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton.
