RIP Kenny Rogers

Iconic country music legend, Kenny Rogers has passed away at the age of 81.

The singer was known for his songs like “Lucille”, “The Gambler”, “Islands In the Stream” a duet with the iconic Dolly Parton, “Through The Years”, “We’ve Got Tonight” with Sheena Easton, “Crazy” among others.

Representatives made the announcement and said that the Rogers passed away peacefully at his home from natural causes under hospice care and in the presence of family.

Because of the pandemic of Covid-19, the family has decided to hold a private service and are looking forward to celebrating Roger’s life publicly with friends and fans at a later designated date.

Throughout his career, Rogers has won three Grammy awards, multiple Country Music Association Awards including a Lifetime Achievement Award, the Country Music Television Artist of a Lifetime Award, was voted by readers of USA Today and People as their Favourite Singer of All Time and inducted back in 2013 into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

In his long-standing career that spans six decades, Rogers did some acting in a made-for-TV movie spun-off from ‘The Gambler’, released two books about photography, and even founded his own chicken and ribs food chain with a former CEO of KFC.

That food chain is currently a local favorite and we have no doubt that once the pandemic scare has tapered off and the public is finally allowed to live normal lives, many will flock to the nearest branch of Kenny Rogers.

RIP Mr. Rogers, you did great and we will always be listening and playing your music, through the years.
