Disney’s new animated film – “Raya and the Last Dragon”
Disney Animation announced that the next film of the studios will be an original movie from Adele Lim, the writer of Crazy Rich Asians, titled Raya and the Last Dragon.
According to Digital Spy, Raya is a fantasy epic adventure with themes inspired by Southeast Asia and it is set for release in 2020.
The said animated film was announced at the Walt Disney Studios panel on Saturday (Aug.25), introducing Raya as “a lone warrior from the fantasy kingdom of Kumandra who teams up with a crew of misfits in her quest to find the Last Dragon and bring light and unity back to their world”.

Paul Briggs and Dean Wellins, artists from Big Hero 6 and Frozen, will make their debuts as director on the film.
Disney have also announced two new members of the voice cast in Disney’s D23 Expo which are Akwafina (Crazy Rich Asians), who will play Sisu, the Last Dragon, and Cassie Steele, who will voice the lead character Raya.
Raya and the Last Dragon is set to arrive in cinemas in November 2020.
