Iggy Azalea’s ‘In My Defense’ album release & cover art revealed
The long-awaited sophomore album of Iggy Azalea is on the way. Iggy officially announced on her Instagram account last Monday (June 24) that her In My Defense album will be released next month, July 19.
According to Billboard, the 25-year-old rapper has not released her album since 2014 where her commercially successful album The New Classic debuted. “It’s been a treacherous journey for Iggy to get to this point in her career, which included parting ways with Island Records, public breakups, photo leaks and more.”
Her upcoming album In My Defense will be available for pre-order on June 28. Azalea also unveiled the striking cover art of the album which featured Iggy soaked in blood on the side of her car while still wearing a glistening silver dress.
She explained the artwork’s inspiration on Twitter saying “It’s a statement about women not having the ability to defend themselves under public gaze” During the first half of 2019, Iggy launched into her new era of music with her singles “Sally Walker” and “Started.”
