Selena Gomez’s Album ‘Rare’ Earns No.1 in Billboard
Selena Gomez’s new album Rare earns the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart, making it her third album to land the title. The album was released in January 10 through Interscope Record and, according to Nielsen Music, it started with 112,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending in Jan. 16.
Rare’s bow was not enhanced by album sales generated from a concert ticket/album sale redemption offer, which other releases do. It landed on the top spot with the entirety of her studio efforts, which are merchandise and album bundles sold through the official website of Selena Gomez, as well as a deluxe CD with bonus tracks available only at Target.
The rundown of Selena Gomez’s top 10s are the following: Rare (No. 1), Revival (in 2015, No. 1), Stars Dance (2013, No. 1); and then her three projects with The Scene, When the Sun Goes Down (2011, No. 3), A Year Without Rain (2010, No. 4) and Kiss and Tell (2009, No. 9).
The songs ‘Lose You to Love Me’ and ‘Look at Her Now’ led the said album.
