The first episode of a possible prequel series to HBO’s global hit show Game of Thrones has completed production in Belfast, a network executive said on Wednesday.

HBO executives will first review the pilot before it is greenlit to a full series but Casey Bloys, president of programming at the network, appeared to be upbeat and enthusiastic about what he had seen so far.

“It looks really good. The cast was amazing,” Bloys said during an interview. With Game of Thrones recently concluding its final season last May, fans are eager to return to the fictional world of Westeros.

The original series was a ratings juggernaut for HBO with an average of 44.2 million domestic viewers per episode in Season 8. It even garnered the most nominations for the upcoming Emmy Awards this year with a record breaking 32 nods despite a divisive farewell season.
