First Look Netflix Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance

Netflix has just released the first trailer of their upcoming prequel to the 1982 Jim Henson / Frank Oz movie The Dark Crystal, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.

Based on J.M. Lee’s Dark Crystal companion novels, Shadows of the Dark Crystal and Song of the Dark Crystal, the series takes place in the years immediately after the 1982 film.

 

 

The primary characters are voiced by Taron Egerton, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Nathalie Emmanuel.  Other Gelflings are voiced by big name film stars including Helena Bonham Carter, Natalie Dormer, Eddie Izzard, Theo James, Toby Jones, Shazad Latif, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mark Strong, and Alicia Vikander. The character originally voiced by Frank Oz, Aughra, will be played by Donna Kimball.

The series premieres on Netflix in August 30th, 2019.
