Warner Bros. has officially confirmed that the third installment of Fantastic Beasts will begin filming this year after several production delays earlier this year.

The third installment of the said film will be set in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. The original cast will reprise their roles, which includes Eddie Redmayne (Newt Scamander), Jude Law (Albus Dumbledore) and Ezra Miller (Credence/Aurelius Dumbledore).

Alison Sudol (Queenie Goldstein) and Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski) will also be appearing in the third movie. Johnny Depp will reprise his role as the antagonist wizard, Gellert Grindelwald, as it was confirmed last October.

Originally, the production of the third Fantastic Beast film was set to begin in July this year, but because of the criticisms that The Crimes of Grindelwald took, the production was postponed. Warner Bros. boss Kevin Tsujihara admitted on a statement last March that “the second film didn’t perform as well as the first,” and that they were determine to “get it right” with the third installment.

David Yates will be directing the untitled third installment of Fantastic Beasts, and it will be produced by David Heyman, Steve Kloves and Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling. The film is expected to hit cinemas on November 12, 2021.
