Christopher Lloyd joins Mandalorian Season 3

While most Star Wars fans are waiting for the 3rd season of The Mandalorian, viewers were treated to a Season 2.0 of the show when the Mandalorian guested recently on more than one episode of its own spinoff show, The Book of Boba Fett.

Since then the debate about whether it was a Mandalorian show or a Boba mini-series that viewers got went on for a while. But what the third season of The Mandalorian promises this time is the addition of a new and fan-favorite of an actor into its ever-growing franchise, and this is by way of Christopher Lloyd!

Yes, Doc Emmet Brown is going to Tattooine!

Well although not his character per se, but Lloyd himself, a seasoned and Emmy as well as a Drama Desk-winning actor is best known for his role in the Back to the Future movies by playing the lovable, Doctor Emmet Brown responsible for bringing Marty back and to the future. He was also the villainous Commander Kruge in 1984’s, Star Trek film, the Search for Spock as well as being on the Emmy winning show Taxi, which ran from 1978 to 1983 and gave him his Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Not to mention playing the lovable and gullible Uncle Fester opposite the late, Raoul Julia in two Addams Family films.

Lucasfilm has obviously been tight-lipped about the role that Lloyd is up for as fans have been specualtingI whether he will once again play a villain to counter the Mandalorian or an unexpected ally to him and Grogu.

Like everyone else, we would all have to wait to see when the 3rd season finally airs over on Disney Plus this year.
In the meantime, the network is busy ramping up promotion for the airing of another potential hit of a mini-series that brings back Ewan McGregor to his role of  being everyone’s favorite Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi this May 25.
