WATCH: Trailer of ‘Little Women’ Starring Saoirse Ronan and Timothée Chalamet
Saoirse Ronan and Timothée Chalamet from ‘Lady Bird’ reunite in the first trailer of Greta Gerwig’s version of Little Women. Adapted from the 1868 novel of Louisa May Alcott, Little Women follows four sisters living in the 19th century New England who are about to flock the familial nest.
Joining Ronan and Chalamet is the forthcoming movie of director Greta Gerwig are Meryl Steep, Laura Dern, Emma Watson and Florence Pugh.
According to NME, the feminist novel explores the wider society’s expectation that the four sisters will become submissive caregivers to their husbands. The book has been adapted for TV and film over the years including the 1997 film starring Winona Ryder and the mini-series on BBC in 2017 starring Emily Watson and Michael Gambon.
Little Women will be released in UK cinemas on December 26, 2019.
