According to Deadline, the film adaptation of the hit video game Uncharted needs another director after its second director, Dan Trachtenberg, left the project.

Though, Spider-Man: Far From Home star Tom Holland will still play the lead role, Nathan Drake, in the movie.

Trachtenberg is famous in the video game community after co-hosting Totally Rad Show, a show focusing on games, movies, TV and comic books, in the late 2000s and early 2010s. He then directed a short film titled Portal: No Escape in 2011, which was based on Portal, an award-winning video game.

Even though Trachtenberg has left, Sony-arm Play Station Production has officially joined the film, making it the first announced project of the division.

The story line of the movie is the origin story of Nathan Drake and how he became a high-risk, high-reward treasure hunter. The story is developed by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway (Iron Man, Men in Black: International) and Rafe Judkins (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., My Worst Enemy).
