Taylor Swift’s ‘Lover’ is Certified Platinum

Republic Records announced that Taylor Swift’s album Lover has officially been certified platinum by RIAA on Friday (Sept. 27). Lover has gained one million equivalent album units earned in the US. (One equivalent album unit, as recognized by the RIAA, is equal to: one album sale, 10 tracks sold from an album, or 1,500 on-demand audio and/or video streams from an album.)

The news comes after the Aug. 23 release of the album, which marked the biggest week of any album in the U.S. since the debut frame of the previous full-length studio set of Taylor Swift, reputation.

Lover gave Swift her sixth No. 1 on the Billboard 200. It features lead single “ME!” and “You Need To Calm Down” and the title track itself.
