Taylor Swift to open for the 2019 VMAs

It’s confirmed! Taylor Swift will open the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards.

Swift spread the good news during her appearance on Good Morning America on Thursday (Aug. 22). When GMA host Robin Roberts asked Swift what fans can expect, she said: “Well, I’m opening the show, so that’s exciting. I don’t know if I was supposed to say that actually, but I’ve done it now, so…can’t take it back.”

Regarding her nominations, Swift talked about the videos for “Me!” and “You Need To Calm Down” saying “I wrote those treatments for those videos, so it’s really exciting to be nominated and the fans have been so wonderful.”

The MTV Video Music Awards will be broadcast live from Prudential Center in New Jersey on Monday (Aug. 26) at 8:00 p.m.
