Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Sequel Release Date Confirmed

Good news fans of the Spider-Verse! The official release date of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has finally been announced.

While it’s still way ahead of us, this confirms that the sequel is happening for real and it will be coming out on April 8, 2022.

The news was announced on Friday (November 1) on the official Twitter page of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and the producer and writer of the film, Christopher Miller, also shared the announcement on his Twitter account.

No further details have been released yet but it is expected that Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld will reprise their roles as Miles and Gwen, as well as for Brian Tyree Henry as Jefferson Davis (father of Miles), Luna Lauren as Rio Morales (mother of Miles) and Kathryn Hahn as Dock Ock.

So far, the only hint that the co-director of the film, Rody Rothman, teased is that Doc Ock will have a bigger role on the upcoming sequel.

“In the end, we found the movie played fine without us tagging every single possible thing, but we definitely think of Liv as someone who is not gone from the story, and who in many ways, is our most powerful bad guy,” Rothman said.

“She’s manipulating a lot of things to achieve her own grand ambitions.”

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 will be released on April 8, 2022.
