Spice Girls Movie in the works

An animated Spice Girls movie among others, are being developed according to Mireille Soria, president of Paramount Animation, and they’re committing two releases a year, starting 2020

Melanie Brown (Scary), Emme Bunton (Baby), Melanie Chrisholm (Sporty), Geri Halliwell (Ginger) and Victoria Beckham (Posh), All five members of the iconic 90’s girl group, are on board with the project.  Simon Fuller will be produce the film and Karen McCullah and Kiwi Smith will write the screenplay. The animated feature will include Spice Girls classics as well as new songs.

Soria said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that the girl group “had an idea that we’ve been developing.” She also said that The Spice Girls “are very involved.”

Other movies would include The SpongeBob Movie: It’s a Wonderful Sponge, the first 3D computer animated SpongeBob movie and considered as a “love letter to SpongeBob’s beloved creator Stephen Hillenburg, the fans, and the residents of Bikini Bottom”, (Hillenburg passed away November last year).  It will be directed by Tim Hill and will be released in May 2020.  The Chinese American fantasy Adaptation of The Tiger’s Apprentice along with a Grease-like musical set on a Jersey Shore where sea crab tourists clash with land crab townies titled Jersey Crabs will also be released in 2022.

The ‘Spice Girls’ animated feature is set to be released in 2020.
