Natalie Portman will not just be back in the MCU for the fourth Thor film, she’ll be back wielding the mythical hammer and god-like powers of Thor herself, according to the makers of Thor: Love and Thunder.

People, especially women, are ecstatic when San Diego Comic-Con announced the news that Jane Foster (Portman’s character) will be back as female Thor on Saturday (July 20).

The news gets even better when the creators announced that Portman will be working alongside Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie. According to Buzzfeed News, fans already knew that Thompson will be back as the King of Asgard, and she broke the news at Comic-Con that her character would be looking for a queen, which makes her character as the first openly LGBTQ superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Portman posted a photo of her on Instagram next to Thompson and Chris Hemsworth, who will also be back in the film, reacting to her new role on Sunday (July 21).

Portman joked about getting ready to play her new superhero role saying “Remember this as the before picture for when I get jacked.”

Thor: Love and Thunder will be in theaters on November 5, 2021.
