Isuzu RZ4E Bluepower Fuel Eco Challenge Finals

On January 26, 2019, 27 finalists converged at the IPC headquarters in Binan, Laguna, for the Championship stage of the 2018 Isuzu Fuel Economy Challenge.

The finalists came from a field of roughly 40 customers who took part in a fuel economy challenge activity that ran from September 17 to December 31, 2018 at participating Isuzu dealers nationwide. These customers tried to get the best fuel efficiency figures from the RZ4E mu-X and the D-MAX RZ4E during their test drive. The customers with the best results were qualified to be part of finals last January 26th.

A set route of about 10kms around the IPC headquarters was the course for the final fuel economy run in either an Isuzu mu-X RZ4E suv or D-MAX RZ4E pickup. One final run would determine the winners for the all-expense-paid trip for two to Thailand scheduled on April 1 to 4, 2019.

After each participant completed the course, average fuel consumption was recorded with three winners from the D-MAX and three winners from mu-X emerged from the best results.

“Isuzu Philippines Corporation has always valued, and strove for, not just power and reliability in all its vehicles, but also fuel efficiency. Our RZ4E Blue Power engine epitomizes our effort to produce the most fuel-efficient diesel engine, capable of producing more power for less fuel, which is a perfect match to our economical drivers. It is a very timely reminder that, despite the prevailing volatility of fuel prices in the market, Filipino drivers can save more on fuel expenses with the help of a fuel-efficient partner, the Isuzu mu-X and D-MAX RZ4E.” said IPC President Hajime Koso.

The 2018 Isuzu Fuel Eco Challenge is IPC’s way of promoting and advocating fuel-efficient driving among existing Isuzu vehicle owners and eventual Isuzu vehicle buyers, highlighting the efficiency, power, ride comfort, and durability of the new Isuzu mu-X SUV and the D-MAX pick-up — both powered by Isuzu’s RZ4E , the latest innovation in diesel engine engineering under the Blue Power emissions technology. Shell Pilipinas is the official fuel partner of 2018 Isuzu Fuel Eco Challenge.
