Henry Cavill and Millie Bobbie Brown in New Sherlock Holmes Movie

Henry Cavill, the actor who portrays Superman in recent DC films, will portray Sherlock Holmes in a new movie based on the series of novels, The Enola Holmes Mysteries.

Playing the title role in Enola Holmes as Sherlock’s much younger sister is Stranger Things star Millie Bobbie Brown. Harry Potter actress Helena Bonham Carter will join Cavill and Brown portraying the mother of Sherlock and Enola. Brown is also producing the film.

The movie is slated for a 2020 release and is being directed by Harry Bradbeer (director of Killing Eve) with Jack Thorne (screenwriter of His Dark Materials) adapting the script.

The Enola Holmes Mysteries is written by American author Nancy Springer and is centered on the teenage sister of Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes, who is twenty years Sherlock’s junior. Instead of going to school to learn how to be a lady, Enola instead runs off to solve cases.
