Duffy’s Back!

Everybody of course knows, Adele.

But Duffy?

Well, you probably know of her and of her hit song, “Mercy” and that she has a Grammy, a Brit Award and an Ivor Novello award to her name. But it certainly has been ages since we heard anything from the singer-songwriter.

Finally, she has opened up and revealed that she was a victim of sexual assault and was even being held in captivity! While she is much better now, the road to recovery has been long and arduous.

Recently the Welsh singer reached out to a BBC Radio Dj named Jo Whiley in the UK and gave her a copy of her new song called, “Something Beautiful”. She says that talking about her ordeal was harder than she thought and from that difficulty, the song came about.

At present, Duffy has no plans to release the song commercially, even if the song was played on DJ Jo’s show.

“It’s just something for you to play people on radio during these troubling times, if you like the song of course. If it lifts spirits.”

“I don’t plan to release it, I just thought a little something might be nice for people if they are at home, on lockdown.”

Born on June 24, 1984, Duffy’s full name is Aimee Anne Duffy and made her film debut in 2011 in the movie, Patagonia.

Lockdown or not, it is a beautiful song.  Please reconsider, Duffy.

We smell a hit!
